Join Us For Dinner and Conversations with Dr. Julian Bond
On October 2, 2010, the Nu Sigma Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., will host an event honoring the accomplishments of Dr. Julian Bond. In its signature event titled “Dinner and Conversations”, the Nu Sigma Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated will provide an intimate evening with one of the greatest civil rights leaders of our time.
The United States of America continues to lead the way in securing freedoms for all people, regardless of race, color, creed, ethnic origin, etc. Its ability to lead the way is directly attributable to the foundation laid by heroes such as Dr. Julian Bond who helped spawn the Civil Rights Movement through his participation in the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Community. His efforts and participation then helped shaped the organization we know today as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). We believe that we can continue to build upon that foundation and, through conversation and understanding, help bring America even closer together. It is our hope that you will join us as we sit and listen to one of the greatest Civil Rights Pioneers, Dr. Julian Bond, share his thoughts on “Remembering the Heroes of the Civil Rights Movement: Will Their Legacy be Enough for Change as We Face the Future?”
